I made this little doodle the other day when I was bored. The tiny villagers are bringing their offering to the forest giants. I want to make more stuff like this. I'm planning on making a lot of tiny watercolors soon too.

So I've been working on this book for about 2 years now on and off. But mostly off. It's been a long dragged out procces. It should have been done after the first month. Oh well. It's getting close now. Since I've gotten serious about my artwork and the direction I want to take it I've been very productive and have been getting so much done. Now I just have to turn that productivity onto Little Baby Monster and just finish it. Time to get serious.

Gallery Night

The gallery night on Saturday went real great. I hung out with my buds and met a lot of great new people. I haven't been able to post my last two supers since I've been so busy. I made them I just haven't posted. But anyways I'm very much looking forward to doing more shows. It seems I got a lot of good feedback. Overall it was just a real great time.

This is a woodcut I did of Batman as a Luchador. It's one of my favorites. I was really made because I dropped him and messed the tops of his ears up. But I managed to repair him the best I could.

This dude right here is The Red Parrot. He's my first puzzle guy. I've been wanting to do this idea for a while now just have never gotten around to it. Interchangeable puzzle pieces. I'm planning on making all sorts of characters like this that you will be able to switch body parts and stuff with. It's gunna be cool!

HGP Stamp Success!

This is actually my 3rd attempt at making the stamp. The second time I did the same exact thing as the first time. It was pretty dumb. But look! I have done it. I've made a cool stamp for Heavy Giant Press stuff. And I added a nice little stamping handle to it. Makes it look good. The soft stamp material is so much easier to work with. I'm never buying that block stuff again. The imprint to stamp makes looks really clean too. I'm really happy with the way it turned out.

I just bought the Domain name heavygiantpress.com. So instead of this site being heavygiant.blogspot.com it will be heavygiantpress.com. I think it will be a little easier for everyone. I'm pretty excited about it. It'll be up in a few days or so.

First Stamp a Failure. But Still Pretty Cool.

So here is my first attempt at making my own stamp. HGP for Heavy Giant Press. It turned out better than I thought really. But while cutting I forgot to write the letters backwards so now when you stamp it turns out backwards. So there's one mistake. The other thing is that it doesnt stamp very good on paper. For this one I used the hard wood block stamp. It seems to do decent hand stamps but paper stamps don't really show up. So next I'll try out the softer rubber I have and see if it turns out better. And I'll write stuff backwards this time.

The Traveling Pig

So here is my first attempt at painting a sculpey toy. It is a traveling pig man. I'm not sure where to or from he is traveling but he's more than prepared for the journey. I think it turned out pretty good for a first try. Although I didnt really like how the textures turned out. And i need to get myself some tools to make doing the small stuff easier. I used regular acrylics. I hear miniature paint for like warhammer and stuff works better on sculpey. So im gunna try that out after I finish painting Action Orc.

I just need to stop getting off track and turn off Ace Ventura. I'm hoping to get all the pencil and inking done today. And then I'll decide if I want to do color.
